This is the David Richard Autosport Rothmans sponsored rally car used by Jimmy McRae on the 1986 National Breakdown Rally. It was then converted to left hand drive, and used by Billy Coleman on the 1986 Manx International Rally and Cork 20 International Rally, before being sold to Norway for rallycross, ice-racing and hillclimbing

" I bought the car from Autosport David Richards in January 1987 and the car was one of two cars in Rothmans colors and was said to have been driven in 2 rallies by Billy Coleman and Jimmy McRae.The engine was rebuilt by Terry Hoyle and I took the car to Norway and the iceracing championship 1987 and won all 4 races. Hillclimbs in Finland, Sweden and Norway was on the menu before I entered the Pike Peak Hill Climb 1987 and finished 8th. The Norwegian round of the European rallycross was the next target. In the suitable rain I set the 2 best times in qualifying, but a broken rear spring made the car difficult to drive in the final and I finished 6th. The European round in hillclimb in Oberjoch was next with a second place before the last race with the car at Brands Hatch rallycross in desember 1987. In the B-final I finished second behind Jonathan Palmer
After car sold to Glomma Papp Racing/Iversen.
Late "90 The car have been then restored before used again by his new owner One of the most important Metro 6R4 in the world and a unique opportunity to own a piece of a legend ex McRae (only one in the world)
This car is very well known by the 6R4 experts and is of course correctly documented with Log Book from 1986, photo when Bratlie bought it from David Richards

This specification was done to help the mecanics to do a quicker job in the Mondial. The chassis is very specific, and gearbox, engine, suspensions, brakes are also specific. The dashboard is hand made in Kevlar and you have access to the electric system directly. All parts of factory cars are hand made and the body is kevlar. The EVO 1 is very reliable as the car was built to be driven flat out by the top drivers in the world. And don t forget that the 205 T16 is 2 times world champion who explain by him self how good was the car. This particular EVO 1 is the prototype of the EVO 1 and was use by the factory test racing program to experimente news parts. He was also use in 1984 for the reconnaissances of Tour de Corse 1984 and Rallye Sanremo 1984.( documented ) After the season, the prototype was given to Charley Pasquier who was the co driver of Jean Pierre Nicolas in the 1984 season with the 205 T16.
