who won the 1976 italian rally championship.
It's probabily one of the most interesting ex-work LANCIA STRATOS. 1240*204* From the production list the car born red but when Mr. Tony Fassina driven it was finished in blue (SCUDERIA IL GRIFONE official colour at the time). Everything on this car was restored with original 1976 italian rally championship specification.
With other words the car is now in the same configuration of the day that started the 1976 italian rally championship with Tony Fassina. The scocca number figures pattern is the correct one, as well as the chassis number. The left door hinge hasn’t any number but the right side has the number 204 as well as the trunk lid: 204 . The car comes with original ATE Gr.4 brakes. Mr. Michelotto, who tuned the car for Mr. Fassina, said that this car raced with LOCKHEED brakes but probabily doesn't remember very well as I've many original pictures of 1976 COPPA LIBURNA rally, 1976 4 REGIONI rally, etc. where is clearly visable that the car is racing with ATE brakes and not LOCKHEED.

Actual licence plate: TOS44943, previous number: BL098037, chassis no.: 829ARO 001550. Ground-up restoration by Sergio Martinetto (LANCIA RACING Dpt. from 1974 to 1993). BL98037 was the licence plate no. when the car raced. Mr. Tony Fassina won the 1976 italian rally championship with this car, please find 1976 results: San Giacomo; 2nd. Quattro Regioni; 1st Waldegaard, 2nd Darniche, 3rd Fassina. Piacenza; 1st. San Martino di Castrozza; 1st Munari, 2nd Darniche, 3rd Fassina. San Remo; 1st Munari, 2nd Waldegaard, 3rd Darniche, 4th Fassina. Munari and Waldegaard were LANCIA drivers (world championship), Darniche was CHARDONNET (european championship). Then Mr. Fassina partecipated to many other rallyes in other years but 1976 is the most important result of this car. Italy.
